About Me

I have always been fascinated by what makes people tick, even in my school days when I 'met' characters in novels and plays. My first brush with psychology was when studying for a degree in English from Oxford University, when I encountered the work of CG Jung. I was a member of the CG Jung Analytical Psychology Club London for many years. I worked in publishing initially but missed the authenticity and depth of human experience which I had encountered in different ways through reading. I managed to secure a post in the Training Department of WPF Counselling to learn about real world therapy.

I married, had two children and embarked on a nursing career. I felt lucky to be able to care for a wide range of people from diverse backgrounds, each with different needs and ways of coping with illness.

It wasn't until much later that feelings of somehow not having fully lived my purpose began to bother me; but life, if you allow it, has a way of creating opportunities and getting you back on track. After some deliberation, I went to see a Quest Cognitive Hypnotherapist. I not only discovered what I wanted to do but also the missing piece of the 'jigsaw of myself' that I had never really understood. From this experience, I came to understand the power of Cognitive Hypnotherapy; a short term, targeted, highly structured therapy designed to access the unconscious and create change. All I knew as a client was that it felt so gentle, safe and deeply relaxing. Changes in perception and in how I felt happened subtly without me noticing quite how or when.

The missing piece of the jigsaw for me turned out to be neurodiversity; AuDHD. The ADHD element bestows gifts as well as challenges; hyperfocus for in-depth investigation, heightened curiosity, intuition and empathy, and the enhanced pattern recognition skills which aid my work. In short, psychology came back full circle when I trained as a Quest Cognitive Hypnotherapist with the internationally renowned Quest Institute and its founder, Trevor Silvester.

I support you to come back to a more capable version of yourself, to change the limiting beliefs holding you back and to work with strategies to manage daily life. I work intuitively with body and mind, and I firmly believe we all have the resources within to heal ourselves; I would love to help you access your innate ability to do just that.
